About us

Mystic Moon is the fulfillment of a dream that began six years ago when we first encountered llamas, (as guardians for our flock of Romney sheep). The beauty, intelligence, and thoroughly charismatic dispositions of these wonderful creatures soon captured our hearts. We began visiting farms to learn more about them…and then, we attended our first Celebrity Futurity and Sale…and came home with our first lovely suri females.
During our visits to llama farms all over the nation - from Virginia to Oregon - we were continually struck by the friendly hospitality of the owners: a special and wonderful hallmark of the llama community that we have never ceased to appreciate.

In September of 2007, we took our big step and purchased the outstanding sire, GNLC Ballistic, from the Stephensons of Flightless Farms. A superb combination of the legendary Kantu line and the treasured domestic “E-line”, Ballistic has produced several remarkable, award winning offspring. He is continuing his tradition of producing tall, athletic, fine fibered beauties here at Mystic Moon.

The dams forming the foundation herd at Mystic Moon are not only attractive individuals, but ones whose pedigrees are demonstrating depth and reliability. Selected from notable bloodlines including those of Kantu, Bolivian Over Exposed, FFF Chiri-O, Senor Guillermo TCL, Newevo, Papa Noel, El Fuerte, Federale, Silver Peru, White Heat, MCF Etol and DDL Dreamcatcher, our beautiful dams are providing us with beloved and highly promising crias.

The entire Fowler family shares in the enjoyment that owning llamas has brought to us. While Margaret and daughter, Emma, do most of the herd care and training, the rest of the family – Clay, Ulysses, Morgan & Desiree – help keep the farm running smoothly.

When not on the farm or hard at work, the family delights in hiking, skiing and sailing expeditions, to unearthly places such as the picturesque Lake District in England, the rocky coast of Maine, or the magnificent National Parks.

We look forward to welcoming you to our farm!
